Great stuff so far, it would be fantastic if all of you stuck around after the competition :)

Totally agree... I love to see the different styles new people bring to the forum.

I know I've been gone for a while, but it's great to be back!  To be totally honest, this forum is one of the reasons I'm planning on shooting m4/3rds for a long time... I was all set to purchase a Nikon or Canon DSLR (mostly to shoot a wedding this summer), but a return to this forum on a rainy afternoon changed my mind. Now I'm planning on renting a DSLR as my "second" body and ordering the new e-p3 and 45mm lens as my go to camera.

its great that you're back, I take a Sony a55 as a second body to weddings. Pretzton did a beautiful wedding using the pen 3. The submissions here so far are awesome.

It's because of you and Pretzton that I've decided to give it a go.  Probably helps that a close friend of mine just picked up an e-pl3 and a Panny 20mm. AF is so much quicker!  I'm sure he'll let me borrow the Panny for the wedding...

I'm a newbie and while walking through a forest in Alaska, saw these crazy mario-like mushrooms, bent down, snapped, and got what I think to be a decent shot.

Taken with E-PL1 and Olympus 17mm

I look forward to exploring this site (can't believe I just found it) and learning from everyone.

I love watching wildlife and it was a treat to come across this pair of young bald eagles in spring as they tried to construct what was probably their first nest. They were clearly learning, and if this were a photo series I would show them perched on the branches of a ponderosa pine looking down at the pile of branches that had fallen to the ground. I followed them for over an hour until I got a stiff neck. They abandoned the effort the next day.

Most people assume I used a big DSLR--indeed, if I were on a birding trip I would normally take the E-5--but the only reason I was able to capture the moment was because I was carrying the GH2 and 100-300mm lens. The compact and versatile Micro Four Thirds gear is easy to use handheld for long periods and is capable of nabbing a bird in flight. The equivalent DSLR setup would weigh over twice as much and be impractical to haul around on a casual walk.

How about that photo of a gal on the end of the dock?  That is an amazing image, and shows off your editing skills.

Well...if its good enough for the admin, its good enough for me. Heres my submission. With the GH2, this is a 12k white balance on the camera, nostalgic mode, +2 contrast, -1 NR. Clarity reduction in lightroom for the dreamy look, and a boost in contrast.

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I know, nothing exceptional, but it is my very first M43 photo, done less than two weeks ago, and I still have a weak spot for it...  :)

Coming in under the wire of course.  Taken with my E-P1 and the Panny 20, I stitched several shots together with Hugin, then did some simple color processing in Lightroom.  Great shots everyone!

Here's my submission.  :)
Taken with EPL-1 on kit lens. Image is unedited. :) I'm a amateur with the Micro Four-thirds and just learning about photography. Hope the image looks good to you all. :)
This place is a new in Singapore. Will be opened to public next year!
