Nathan from England here. Have used Canon D/SLR for around 10 years. Bought a Lumix DMC-LX3 in April as a compact second camera. When I found the E-P1 for Â£300 here in the UK in July I could not resist, especially after finding this forum. Most of my shots are snaps really, and my favourite subject by far is my 17 month old son, but I am looking forward to using the PEN more and more (the Canon already spends more time in the cupboard).

This is one of the first shots I got, and instantly knew I would love the PEN

Love my Olympus EPL-1 best small camera I have ever owned. BTW where can I buy the leatherette for it?

this place has a really nice 'old skool' texture that almost matches the hand grip - quite cheap and doesn't take too long either:

Hello All,
I've been using an EP-1 for a while now and have ventured in to adaptor with Canon FD lenses attached. I'm on hols for a week so I'll be shooting away and I'll try to post some pics / results.

I recently purchased an E-P1. I am still going through the manual and waiting for a couple more things to come in before I start to use it. I am new to photography and looking for a place for critiques and help growing as a photographer. And this place seems to be the right place for that.

Hi shooters!
I am new to this small format, but so intrigued by it ,I am considering buying an E-P1 kit with the 17mm lens and viewfinder very soon. Price is right,$ 500.What is making me pause, is the focus method.I have fiddled with it at Fry's and It seems so slow and inexact, yet I see that all you people can take good pics and are enthusiastic owners.I shoot with Nikon D90 which I have no intention of giving up and have quite a few manual focus lenses that I love to use on it.My camera is not modified with a split prism screen so I use the little green focusing dot as confirmation.I never use live view as I can't see it outdoors and it is slow.What are the techniques and/or equipment you all use to get your pics in focus? I'm not interested in the E-p2 or Pl1 with that ugly, expensive EVF.I like street photography but have no interesting streets here to practice on so I shoot landscape,nieces,cats,plants,cars, whatever.I do love the effects achieved with the c-mount lens being used and am looking for treasures at our flea markets here and in LA.I imagine using three of my Nikon lenses on this future E-p1 body for travel, all of them e series and tiny. 35 f 2.5,50 1.8, 100f2.8.I want this camera as a second,more portable kit that is stylsh,works good, and is fun to use.
Can you all talk me into it?

Hi, I'm new to the Pen world, but, after my fiance got hers, and I played with it for a bit, I decided to get one. Mine will be here tomorrow, and I can't wait! I have been a Nikon D40 shooter for a few years, and enjoy it, but, it's just a pain to take some places (like a recent trip to San Francisco).

I'm originally from Michigan, and now residing in San Diego, a city I've come to love. If you want to check out my Flickr, please feel free. It has quite a few bad pics, and some good shuffled in, I have to go through and organize
