Hi All,

I am Daniel and currently living with my gf and our little 2-year old son, Andy, in a city called Malmo in Sweden.

Eagerly awaiting the white version of the E-P1 to be available in Sweden. I just received the information that the silver E-P1 is in stock with the kit, however, I prefer the white version so I'll wait. I plan to go for the 17mm kit with viewfinder if it is available soon enough.

I was to start taking pictures with an OM2n camera and bought a couple of OM lenses for this purpose, however, the introduction of the E-P1 just made the choice easier - hey, going digital just makes it so much easier. I have snapped up an OM Zuiko 55mm f/1.2 lens on the way and I hope to be able to test it with the E-P1 soon enough! (I just hope Olympus will release the adapter fairly quickly in Sweden as well).

 See you around all!

Hi, I'm a professor at a university in southern Utah where I teach photography. In the last year I discovered the practicality of Olympus cameras and have an E-620, which I use quite a bit to travel with because of its size and to teach with... My students are envious of the wireless flash system! Thanks for starting this forum!

I'm from Connecticut and I like theater/music photography, also kids sports. All for fun. I am shooting a local production of "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" the first week in August and I'm curious if the EP1 can handle the stage lighting. I'll bring the EP1 along as a second camera to try it out.

Thanks for setting this up. The posts are very helpful.

Hi, I'm Jon from the UK,
I got my E-P1 as a graduation present just over a week ago. Its the first brand new camera I've ever owned and only my second digital camera (first was a second hand canon 300D) I've owned loads of film cameras however, too many to count, I actually owned two Pen-F's and they never left my side while they still had life in them.
I'm a bit of a classic camera freak, and hate most types of automation, Most of my cameras don't even have a lightmeter - so this is a bit scary, but I think I've just about managed to turn all the stuff I don't need off.

Look forward to trying out all the creative possiblities with this camera, it really is the first digital camera I've seen that actually makes me want to take it out and take pictures with it (I imagine an M8 or a R-D1 would have the same effect, but I couldn't afford an M8, and couldn't find an R-D1).

Greetings! This is John from Orange County, California.

My E-P1 + 17mm kit is on its way to me, with delivery set for 7/14/09. I "pre-bought" the flash and 4/3 adapter!

My E-P1 is the newest addtional to my 4/3 inventory which includes an Olympus E-30 and E-1, and a Leica Digilux-3.

Hi everyone,
I'm from the UK and have been waiting a long time for a digital camera that looks and feels like the old OM10 that I loved to take pics on long ago. My E-P1 (14-42 kit) has just been delivered and is waiting to be unpacked as I type this, so I can't wait to see if it lives up to my expectations.

こんにちは

Cool to see a forum dedicated to such a revolutionary camera.  I live in Hawaii and I received my E-P1 14-42 kit, 17 pancake and flash about a week ago.  I use it as a daily walk around and travel camera.  I hope they release a longer mft lens for my vacation to Japan later this year. :)

Hello -

Just bought the EP1 after doing a little research on the 43 and M43 format.  I'd been using a Canon G9 - which I liked a lot except for its low light performance, and nearly bought the G10.  I've never owned an Olympus, so not quite sure how I stumbled into an article about the EP1.

Well, the rest is history - I've used the camera with the kit 14-42 lens for the past week and love it..!  I've just order the longer M43 Panasonic long zoom 45-200, and can't wait to try it out.

I'm by no means an expert on photography - I am a professional artist, and find photography a perfect compliment (and tool) for my art.

Anyway, glad to be here, and looking forward to some interesting discussion.

My name is Janne, i´m from Sweden, former Nikonist, sold the D300 and bought the E-P1 and havent had any regrets yet;-)

Looking forward to a forum solely for the E-P1.

I have the 14-42 kit and i ordered the 17mm, and a Konica 40mm f1,8 with adapt.

Hi,

I'm Charles from Belgium, and got in the non-reflex cameras with the Leica M8 of my mother. Got used to that, and when I bought my first reflex, just hated it :-s
Non user-friendly focusing, no easy aperture and speed selecting on low-range cameras. Everything is auto, and I don't like that... And because I'm a student I can't afford having a 1000+ euro camera.

So when i saw this really great looking camera that could mount M lenses, I just fell in love :D
I'll probably use the standard 14-42 lens and when I'm with my mom I'll borrow the exceptional lenses she has: a Noctilux 50mm F1, a Summilux-M 75mm F1.4 and a Elmarit-M 28mm F2.8

But first I need to find the cash for buying the E-P1, so I'll maybe wait for a few months, and sell the crappy Sony Alpha 200 DSLR I posses right now.

Hey everybody! I'm William and I found your forum through a mention on Flickr. I'm currently living in the coastal Southern US. I'm an architecture student and am heading to Italy in August. I wanted a powerful, feature-rich camera that would be easy to lug around Europe, and I couldn't have found a better answer than the E-P1.

I got my E-P1 on Monday, my flash on Tuesday, and have been toying around with them in the few days since. I am a complete photography beginner, never having had anything more than a little digital P&S and my camera phone.

Now all that's left is learning how to use the darn thing to its maximum potential.

Hello,
I'm Virginie and I live in Zurich (Switzerland)
I only discover the photography a few times ago, so I'm still a beginner, but I quickly became passionate and entered in a form of photographic bulimia taking as many pictures as I can of everything around me to learn (and of course because I love that).
I mainly used a sony alpha700 (I quickly abandonned the point and shoot camera because i wasn't satisfied) with some prime lenses. But caring all the time this big camera in my purse is... so heavy at the end of the day !
So when i discovered the E-P1 I was very interested (I must confess that I was not insensitive to the beauty of this little camera). I bought mine yesterday with the zoom because the pancake seems to be totally sold out here and I'm leaving tomorrow in holidays.
But i hope to get the 17mm as soon as I will be back.

I'm very happy to have found this forum (on flickr) because as a beginner I always need some tips and advices.

Hi everyone,
I'm Emmanuel from France, living near the border with Germany. Just got my white E-P1 with the 14-42 zoom lens today.
I'm a beginner, but I'm glad I could find a forum focused solely on the E-P1.
My dad used to take shots with his 'old' OM10 + Zuiko 50mm/f1.8, so I'm definitely going to borrow his lens once I get a hold of the MF-2 adapter !
