but you're forgetting, sigma is the biggest third party lens maker in the world, who happens to make some cameras. Fuji does intend to sell their sensors but way down the line. I think thwy want to.see how well the pro x does. I think they'll be surprised as to how well it does

Bottom Line:  Are you saying Fuji will fail if they don't sell their sensor to others? Yes or no?

the hybrid vf rules

the fuji pro will have gen 2 of this  with an optical vf that is useful at other focal lengths than 23mm[35 equiv]  it will probabley be a step rather than zoom for 18 35 and 60 ,and possibly 23 which everyone wants

Yes, but it only has two steps, unfortunately.

not sure what you mean ,the hybrid vf is either a pure optical vf with digital info overlay this  will be either a stepped  magnification  with 28 50 and 90 fovs
or perhaps a continuous zoom optical finder like the contax g used ......and when macro or fovs that are better served by an evf it is switched  and offers the same WYSIWYG as an LCD ....this is truly the best of both worlds .... tremendously versatile, useful for any situation ,and pleasing to a wider  audience of finder users than either pure ovdf or evf would be

i love the x 100 finder.... its great , hopefull the very good evf in it  will further improve to the level of the nex 7

I think they wont, I think they'll do wonderfully, but Fuji doesn't  seem to think their x pro will be that successful. Maybe its not even a fail or success thing, maybe its more of a let's make a profit out of something nobody has yet thing.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Sigma reverse engineers their lenses.

I don't think Fuji will fail either - they've shown excellent market prowess as of late.

But, I sure would like to see Olympus get on board with Fuji sensors.... 8)

fuji has the chance to become a sensor supplier  as well as a camera and lens maker ....micro 4 3 and apsc is a great market  ....sony makes money there panasonic makes money there .... if fuji makes a great new product  then they should sell it  and reap the rewards

id hate to see this sensor technology be sequestered by one company .....and olympus  offers no threat  its a different sensor size   and somewhat different market

O dont get me wrong, I want this in m4/3s bodies now, bayer sensor are too limited, and the rest of the technologies around them are being limited by them.

Thats the thing, oly has outsourced sensors since like forever, why not look for a better choice than what panasonic is giving them and strike a deal?

I wonder if it has to do with the licensing of the Micro Four Thirds mount, since Panasonic had the first camera.

But unfortunately the X-pro1's optical finder has only two steps of magnification. So it will have to resort to masking frames for some of the focal lengths.

Fuji is a large company, so they will hardly fail. But they won't make a profit on the camera if it has to take all the costs for the sensor development. Shareholders usually don't like things like that.
