Go to review sites and look at the G3s high iso jpegs. Then come back here and explain to me how are they gonna make the the jpeg engine even better
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Panasonic gave everyone what they wanted (except for the internal EVF, but wait for the next camera), and people are still whining. Ugh.

I'm serious, if you go to review sites and look at g3 high ISO samples you'll realize that anything better than this is full frame quality!!!
To me, the tiltable vf is a better choice than a rangefinder style, on the corner, fixed vf...please don't shoot me.

The silver body is quite cool. By the way they made the video it's clear they want to market this camera to a more mature/advanced target.

I really ask myself when people will stop regarding high-ISO performance as a synonym for IQ? It's just one factor. And although the G3 arguably delivers the best JPEGs of all the Panny µFT cameras produced to date, there still is a way to go.

I don't want to spoil any enthousiasm.
read this comparison PEN 3 vs G3 : PEN wins.

However, the PEN gives more pleasing JPEG images with great colour and possibly better image quality - more detail, less moire, better dynamic range. The screen is excellent although perhaps a little contrasty (it can make you think the dark areas of the image are under-exposed, yet when you look at them on the computer they look great). The PEN gives you more choice as to whether you want to add an electronic viewfinder, or whether you want a small (leather style) grip or large (rubber) grip, or no grip at all. The camera also features a huge array of Art Filters, and on top of this you can apply further effects to each Art Filter.

Overall the Olympus PEN E-P3 gives warmer results, while the Panasonic Lumix G3 gives cooler, but also more neutral images. The G3 shows less noise, but also seems to show less detail than the E-P3, which is surprising considering the higher resolution 16 megapixel sensor in the Panasonic, you would expect to see more noise, but ideally more detail as well. The Olympus PEN E-P3 shows more detail in highlights and in shadow areas which means you should get better dynamic range in your photos.

There is still room to grow for m4/3 system. I'm really curious for this GFX :)

I got an email bulletin about this thread so I came here to see what the fuss is about. Oh look, yet another me-too camera just like all the other cameras. The most interesting thing is that Panasonic have copied the Olympus form factor, but this doesn't even get mentioned. Instead the first two replies are about how we should shut up and be happy.

Wrong. Our job as consumers is to critique and demand what we want. The promo wing of Panasonic can take care of the cheerleading. By adopting a non-critical posture this site becomes a useless wing of Panasonic advertising.

Panasonic gave everyone what they wanted (except for the internal EVF, but wait for the next camera), and people are still whining. Ugh.

So they gave us what we wanted except they didn't give us what we wanted. We should wait for the next camera but be happy with this camera. Anyone who has a different opinion is just a whiner. You do realise this is not only insulting but makes absolutely no sense?

And, oh yeah, the plural of "video" is "videos". Putting an apostrophe in the word is a primary school mistake.

This is actually the first Panasonic MFT camera that I would consider buying.  This is purely based upon looks and not performance.

I have never liked the looks of any Panasonic MFT camera until this one - I guess that's why I own Olympus  :)

I certainly don't think so, but people mostly roll their eyes when I talk about derail being the most important aspect. All everyone wants to hear about is noise so that's what I talk about now.

noise is idd just a aspect of iq. But one thing is sure' noise can spoil an image. I hate it.

You are right in regards to the point that I made, I'll admit that. But as long as they still release the GF7 that is rumored (yeah, I know, rumors aren't reliable information), then this camera fits perfectly in the lineup. Isn't it supposed to just be the GF1 replacement that people kept asking for? Looks like the logical GF1 upgrade to me.
