We're not sure what they are, but what would you buy if they released it?

If they make one equivalent to Olympus ZD 14-54MM F/2.8-3.5 II, I probably will buy it.

With how many versions of that they've already made, why not.

How about a standard lens (Maybe a reworked kit zoom ) with a built in focus assist lamp?
or a Macro with a built in ring flash?

define pro...
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

define pro...
Oly has three kinds of lenses - ordinary, pro (F/2.8 - F/4 zooms, F/2 macro, etc.), and top-pro (F/2 zooms, 300mm F/2.8 etc).
The Pro- and Top-Pro- are weather sealed.

It comes back to "it depends" but the only lenses I'm really interested in are:

A fast wide angle prime, say 14mm or wider, f/1.4 or faster. The existing 14mm pancake is too slow to be of interest to me.

Short tele fast semi-macro prime, say 25mm or longer, f/2 or faster, at least 0.5x magnification. Bit of a niche area maybe but I think it is a good balance of (semi-)macro ability and general use lens. Examples in this space are the Tamron 60mm f/2 macro, and Zeiss Makro-Planar 50mm+100mm f/2 lenses.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!

I think it'll be something like a 12-60mm considering Olympus copies everything Panasonic does.

I agree, i would like a fast 58mm f/1.4 or even f/1.2.

This is what i would like, a decent focal range for general walk about. I had a 24-105 f/4L when i had my DSLR and it was great, could have been a bit wider at the 24mm end but apart from that, just great! If Olympus or canon can produce a 12-50 or 12-60mm f/2.8-f/3.5 (or similar) and produce  high quality images then I'd buy that without question.

Well then let's just hope you're right. And that the lens isn't so incredibly expensive that nobody can afford it.

There lies the problem for most, the cost!! Mind you if you keep it for years and it produces great quality images then it will be worth it. Saying that we still need to come up with the £800-£1200 or whatever it's going to be to buy it in the 1st place!

Better get saving now!!!! :D

Primes... in a perfect world, I would love a 10mm and a 25mm pancake prime, both at least f2.8, to compliment my 17mm.

I'd love a 50mm (100equiv) prime that focuses on speed, and uses a fast AF motor.  I don't care about video, I just want a good low-light prime to compliment the 20mm I have and love.

I would have to add my vote for some nice primes. Maybe a nice wide angle like a 10mm and on the telephoto end of things something between 75 to 100mm.

Don't we all. Which means they'll never release it.

I think the 4/3rds rumor site says:
  • 25mm f/1.4
  • fast (bright) zoom. 2 of them I think

MU 4/3 site has a thread I think, can't find it now.... 12:51am for me....
So very sleepy

One of the new Pany lenses is the 12-50mm f/2.5-3.3 'Pro' quality so hopefully Oly will do something similar like a smaller version of the great 12-60mm f/2.8-4. Fingers crossed!

m5, let's hope you're right!  I would love that 25mm... perfect pairing for my 17mm.
