at 1099 usd reported at engadget is was discusted

at 599 i am thrilled panasonic will sell a million of these
and shows leadership over oly in bringing affordable lenses [leica branded and approved !]

i think ill get one !!!!!it a focal length af  prime ive wanted for a while for the ep1\gf1
in m4\3..... as a fast prime its pretty close to the 20 ...
but at 50 equiv it can be a short portrait lens with
much less or no distortion issues that occur in wide or wideish [the 20mm] lenses

great news , not as cheap as nikons full frame , but not putting micro 4]23 owners thru the ringer either
[ did i mention leica branded]

Driving to the bank as we speak.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I have the 20mm. Do I really need this? I might pass for now, 6-7 months down the line I might want one.
My rigs:

Leica M8 + 40mm 1.4 Nokton
OMD- E-M5 + Olympus 45mm 1.8
E-P1 + Panasonic 20mm 1.7

Other lenses: Olympus E-P1 Kit, Olympus 12-50 weather sealed, Panasonic 45-200, OM 28mm 2.8, OM 50mm 2.8

I like the shallow depth of view. From the picture of the cat, its quite evident that it is not so sharp wide open, hopefully sharpness will increase around 2.0. Do you have any more sample shots voyager?

I made a topic with samples in the Panasonic thread with f1.4-f4, check it out!
