Interview with Panasonic's Darin Pepple

Panasonic is listening to Photographers

Snip
They want their non-variable zooms even if they have to be just a little bit bigger. So we’ve listened to that. That’s part of what we’ve been doing recently, showing the concepts around and saying, ‘Well, what do you think?’  Hands down, they say, ‘I’ll take it. I want it. Make it.’

Oh, some people are not going to be happy with that.

why in the hell not?? what he is saying is that they intend to make more constant aperture zooms!Should anyone care if theyre a bit bigger?
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Because they're saying that they're going to do something that the people have constantly asked for since Micro Four Thirds started as if they have actually listened, when in reality, people are still not going to be happy.

They also talked about a "Hacked GH2" replacement... But, the answer was that Panasonic, as a manufacture [must] stay within industry standards, BUT, photography has always had people pushing the equipment to it's limits. Like a people who hop their cars,  they start with a stock motor and make it faster. He states that many advances where started this way. But, they can't offer a [hopped up] GH3 without going outside the Industry Standards, at this time. But encourages the owners to have at it, we are watching!

Im hoping for ISO 50 (or 80), a stop more of dynamic range, wireless flash control, more battery life and an unrealistic 1/8000 of a sec for the GH3. They go on about BSI sensors but I dont see them as revolutionary as they say they are. The jump from the fz100 to the fz150 in image quality was indeed very great, but they also subtracted 2mp from one model to the other. Which brings me to my other fear, unlike the rest of the universe I dont want less mega pixels in the new GH, and I suspect that it fully is panasonics intention to do this.
Heres a comparison bettween the fz100 and the fz150 at ISO 800. remember the sensor size...
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...
