The "box" is pretty unexciting. I think the potential for this product would depend on Panasonic's willingness to undercut their own AF100 by including features like XLR audio-in, TC and built-in ND. Maybe they see a need for something in the product line-up to compete with the Sony VG10.

Well, it is for the plain folk, So, I would think will be a  lower line feature set than the AF100.

As the G3 is a less featured set to the GH2... very close, but lacks just enough  hat it can't be used for [professional] use in all if its features... IE: no external mike access for example., or only 20fps in burst most at 4mp. not 40fps as the GH2, the GH2 does it keep the same size file for different aspect ratios, the G3 does not... small differences, but, for a consumer, not a pro, it is just fine. If you need the [Pro] features, get the GH2.

Same thing, it will be a scaled down feature set, good enough for the masses, but the Pro's, they will get AF100 instead.

It is interesting NO C/N/P made a Video to accept there DSLR lenses, or even FF lenses.... Ummmmmm,  Not talking about the DSLR video either...

One Big camera... but, hell, you'd have a counter balanced chest pod anyway, like many TV stations use for [on the go] shooting, or a shoulder grip.  :D :D

Sure, but if you are shopping for a pro-sumer camera it seems like you would probably want something that does more than a GH2. The GH2 does the picture part very well, the other things I mentioned (XLR audio in, TC and built in ND) you can get in other pro-sumer cameras that come in well under the price of the AF100. The novelty of the Panasonic and Sony's are in the single big chip and interchangeable lens mount, it hard to say how meaningful that is with so many capable full HD cameras crowding the pro-sumer price point <$1500.

I would think the feature set will blow away the GH2 in many regards. It is a 100% dedicated video cam after all.
