Amazing. Now, after the "regular" adapter being so overpriced, I can not even imagine how many arms and legs this one is going to cost.

On the other side this is a clear sign about the demise of the 4/3 system. A system that had many happy users during the years, but failed to compete with the "big two" now receives one final adapter. At least that excellent glass doesn't have to be thrown out of the window....

I think so just as long as you don't lose any functionality and AF speed, unlike the current 4/3 adapter.

Because all of the functionality of 4/3 will now exist in m4/3. Oly will not develop two systems, that will compete with each other, so the older one will have to go. No lenses were released in 4/3 for quite a while too.

I figured some would have that negative opinion. Does it not matter now though if this adapter allows them to autofocus their 4/3 lenses (lenses are obviously the strong point of any system) on Micro Four Thirds cameras to their fully ability?

Mine isn't negative. I am happy as an m4/3 owner, but the very existence of this adapter reveals the intention by Olympus to continue developing only m4/3 and migrate existing users to it.

I got mine for free when it was bundled with the 40-150mm lens for less than $200 total.  But, yeah I don't think I will buy one if it is around $200 considering how rarely I use 40-150mm.  Now if they bundle it with the 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 for less than $1K, then sold.

What's so wrong with that? I don't hear the Canon FD crowd complaining about the EF system.

They did, but in 1987, after it became clear that FD lenses could not be used on EOS cameras. Now 4/3 users are in a better position, as full compatibility and functionality seems to be guaranteed.

Auto focus speed is going to be the key to how well this new camera is going to be received by 4/3 users. I don't think I will be rushing to buy another adaptor just for weather sealing.
G5, EP-3, VF 2, 14mm, 17 mm, 20 mm, Nokton 25 mm, 45mm, 12-35 mm, 35-100mm, 14-42 mm, 40-150mm. E-5 and a quiver of 4/3 lenses.

Indeed. That seems to be the only missing functionality after weather sealing.

I read somewhere that 4/3 lenses focus faster on the E-P3 than on any E-series body... Is that not true?

There were a lot of annoying problems with the Olympus 43 lenses on m43 bodies (both Olympus and Panasonic), maybe this unit and some new firmware will solve some of them.

I don't know if it's somewhat true for S-AF but it's certainly not true for C-AF.

C-AF has always been the weak spot of CD AF systems. Recent bodies and lenses have been able to brute-force their way out, but having no experience myself, I can't tell how annoying this is while shooting video.
