Blue Droplets Frozen in Time

I've wanted to try this out for a long time. Lots of trials to get the drops in perfect focus and time it correctly. GX1 with Leica 45 macro.

Great images, great start.  Now vary your timing and catch the mushroom tops!

Thanks.  I did a LOT of timing variation.  What do you mean by the mushroom tops?

I did finally got to go through all the images (the first set was from a quick glance through), and I found quite a few more that I liked:

This one is my favorite of all of them, I think:

Great shots, how did you get the water so blue?

Thanks. The water is colored with one drop of blue food coloring.

Thanks!  A little detail on the setup:

Drop 2 drops and have the first one make the rebound splash up when the 2nd hits it and causes the 2 to fuse and create an umbrella shape!

Mark - I'll have to try that next time.  I think to get it done, though, I'd definitely need to have a stabilized drop rig, as the way I did it, just hand holding the dropper, I doubt I'd get the drops lined up.  I tried a few double drop things, but they resulted in garbage.

I've been wanting to try this out for such a long time. How difficult was it to time this?
