Hi there.

As I said a dozen times photography is a relative new hobby for me. Now I have one question I hope anyone of you can help me with.

The file type .ORF is that a unique file type for Olympus? I think it's Olympus Raw File, but I'm not sure. If it is, then I can only open it with the program that came with my E-P3?

Thanks in advance for your help, and have a nice weekend!

/ André
Best wishes to you all!

yes and yes. an orf file is olympu's raw file extension name and it can be opened in olympus master to be converted to a jpeg

Photoshop CS5 (and probably lightroom?) can open ORF files too. Although I'm not sure if I've tried it yet...

Nearly all RAW processing software will open ORF files as well.  Adobe Camera RAW supports E-P3, and so does Capture One.  I'm sure the other vendors support E-P3 ORF by now.

Lightroom has a lot of issues opening it, takes forever to do so.
