Ok, voilĂ  my moon shot, taken with my Minolta 35-135. Isn't a 500mm, so I am moderately happy ;)

These are so great as you go through these shots. Excellent details and what a subject !!.

Really nice night shoot..
Do you hand hold it at 1/6s? or lean against a wall?

I'd like to try that.... with P/20

you have no idea how seriously I take this principle, on non tripod days Ive even used shoes to get the right angle!!!
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I'm really struggling with moon photos. I only have the 4/3 50-150mm  which gives me only 300mm max. I know if I use a 2x teleconverter it will soften the image. Is there another cheap work around to this? I recall someone selling what looked like a spotting scope converted to m 4/3 mount for a little over $100 on ebay before but can't find it now.

Lisandra, I would also like to know what you used for your shot. Is maybe the same thing I saw on ebay?

there's a 95% probability that the one you saw in eBay its the one I used. It's the one that brings a m4/3s adapter. I really, truly, critically focused it manually at the highest f stop I could without going slower than 1/80-1/100 of a second (the moon moves!), even if it meant brighten it up in photoshop. A tiny bit of noise reduction, a lot of sharpening.

You want a 300mm + lens for a m4/3... that 800mm f/8 spotting scope looks great..
The moon is bright with the reflected light coming off it, so ISO 800 should be plenty to get a 1/300s or above... also, use center weighted, or spot metering. Depends on how much the moon takes up in your image.

I have a 400mm, I have to try this, we have a 3/4 moon right now.. I need a clear sky though.
