Great photos M-5 with a stunning sense of the real about them - the kind of photojournalism/documentary that you don't see much of nowadays. It tells a story of 'life as its lived' reminiscent of the glory days of Life Magazine and Picture Post etc. but at the same time thoroughly contemporary.

Cuttingly sharp, perfectly balanced exposure and beautifully framed.

Well done!

I have to agree with mikmas... very well done.  Many questioned my desire to take pictures of my son when he was in the hospital at 3 months old, but I believe it is important to capture all aspects of life, not just the happy times you want to "remember forever".  Thanks, M-5, for sharing this experience with us.

Thanks mikmas101
I am really liking just having shorter lenses.... 28 x1(M), 40 x2(FOV-u/43, PK), 50  x2 (M, PK), is all I own...I had a DSLR with a 16-45, 100, 70-300--all gone now.
but I can have a bit longer with my 50 on my G1, but, still, 100mm fov is the longest I have.
I have been trying hip and lower angle framing also. As, this series shows... The office image was while I was sitting down 3 feet away, and I swung out my lapped G1 LCD to compose...Handy feature IMO.

I do remember that kind of [story telling] in the older classic magazines. That you would compare this series to those... is humbling..(no emoticon for that  :'()

Edit/Thanks

Thanks.
I have found as long as I am not taking images of other patients, I have never had a problem.. Even in retail stores...

although, the staff usually don't care, they understand, you are getting memories of your child...This is a Children's Hospital [Riley Hospital], that also specializes in Special Needs children. So, Camera's are a none issue, used with respect. Or Son has at least 4 Dr's for normal stuff in this one. This was just a "Wellness Check-Up".

The 20mm got you in the action, I guess this is why your pictures are so natural and so expressively telling the story.
Excellent imagery!

Funny you say this..

for my G1: 20mm (fov 40m)
For my Pentax: 40mm pancake....

Go figure...

sharp, sharp ,sharp. And those are great documentary looking photos BTW. Bold like I like them. Never let anyone tell what not to shoot.

Thanks Lisandra
It wasn't until I was working on them that I saw a series developing...
That 20mm is a really versatile lens at f/1.7... f/2.8 would be to slow for this...That's one reason I sold the 17mm, I like lower ISO indoor with the G1.
