On E-P1 i put focus to single target, which helps a lot and camera mode to M to avoid using AEL (cant be avoided in A or S mode, even when changing button assignment of Exposure button).

The AEL+AFL button has more lag than exposure button i think.
Switching I.S. off i dont see any difference.
C-AF kinda sucks on that camera (video!).
Release-Priority AF i dont see sense here also.

A focus range limiter would help a lot on the slow Pen focus.
cheers
tom

On longer lenses, a focus range limiter would be added plus in my book. A few Tele-Lenses do have this feature for DSLRs. Canon, Sigma I think has a lens with that also.

I just set my E-P1's C-AF to mode 3, which uses the AEL/AFL to start AF, shutter button half way is AEL, and full is AFL/EXP.  I'm not sure how this works exactly.  If I set the AF square on a subject then hit the AEL/AFL button to start focus, can I then let go of the AEL/AFL button and it will continue to focus as the subject moves?  Then when I hit the shutter button fully it stops focusing and releases the shutter?  If so, then that should be really cool for action shooting.  I'm in the house right now and the cat is no where to be found so I can't test it.

I hate having to use the center point, my K-x has no AF points visible in the viewfinder so I always have it set on that one. Gets the wrong thing in focus constantly.
