This had been an experiment doing a HDR image in Photoshop with one image rather than taking different exposures.

Just thought the subject was just right for it.

If you shoot in RAW you can convert 3 images 1 stop apart without loosing dynamic range.  This can then be used for HDR with little issue.

Still getting to grips with my e-pl1 so will give that a go.

Especially now that I've discovered how to convert the RAW files to open up in photoshop, the problem of working on an old Mac.

Well, I thought I might try this..
I took 7 images on Auto Bracket in 2/3 stop differences, 3 under, 1 reg, 3 over
Loaded them in Paint Shop Pro X3 (it has a HDR merge tool), adjusted the image a little,
So, here it is....

That's actually one exposure that has Lightroom written all over it.

Thanks!  These are both HDRs as well but I really didn't push it at all.  The light bulb benefited from it, the Superman symbol not so much.

As usual, you are a master of ´half-light´& open spaces, peterb.  As is your HDR and PP.  I never get my E-Px' or GF's shots that clean, - at least without some other costs, as well.

Thanks guys.

My secret is that my PP is not that good which is why I rely on HDR a lot. I work well with automated and semi-automated processes. I just becomes a little bit of practice with a small number of settings.

Please don't let anyone in on my secret.

So what do you think, I've done that with a free program called "Fusion"

This was with a beta program called oloneo. Its easy as pie to use and has tons of tools. Strength adjustments, shadow/highlight adjustments, shadow/highlight contrast adjustments, white balance, tint, saturation, a curves table, hue sliders per color, saturation sliders per color, luminance sliders per color, what else do you want for free!!! OOO, and it deals with RAW files straight from the camera!!
It can also combine multiple exposures for noise reduction and combine multiple photos with different light sources for cool effects.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I´m now reading a lot about the 'Oloneo' program(s) on the web, - mostly very positive reviews.  At  some point in my reading, I got the impression that they were PC-programs, - not for Mac's, - but some posts&forums says they will be available for Mac's later?  However, trying to connect with oloneo dot com, - for one reason or other, I'm not able to get connected to their home site.  I'll give it another try tomorrow, though.  Looks interesting, - and I guess I would even pay for the program, if their beta version (used to be freeware) is no longer available?
