No matter what camera, just find the oldest one you have.

I have older, but not currently on Flickr.

Excellent topic, but I'll have to scour the archives.  But I'll post an image I took in 2008 with a p&s I got in 2003:

With this camera:

Which I still have, and still works even though it's been involved in two motorcycle accidents...the last time being flung into a mountainside.

Interesting question that required some work to answer. My first digital camera was the Olympus D300L in November 1996. Its first job was documenting street facilities. I found the attached photo on a Zip disk--remember those? I dug out an old USB Zip drive I had not used in years which a current Mac running Lion had no trouble using. The original PSD file (I saved them that way in the early days) was dated 11/25/96 and was 1024x768 which was the maximum size the 1MP D300L took.

The camera had 6MB of built-in memory--no removable card--which stored 30 photos at maximum resolution. The lens was 36mm equivalent at f2.8-11 and the camera had a fixed ISO 100. I used it for several years before it fell in a lake and died. It was actually a good camera for its day.

Ha!  That is actually my grandfather (since deceased) and my father kayaking on the sound in the Outerbanks, NC. I waded out into the water for the shot and really thought I was being a photographer!

I wish I kept taking photos and knew then what I know now!!

Some other old ones!  I think these are all taken with a C700uz.  10X zoom!  I thought that was awesome at the time.  Certainly helped frame some shots!

Finally a photo contest I might have a chance of winning!  I was an early adopter of digital for routine business stuff.  I saw the potential for in-house work where time mattered more than image quality so I talked the company into buying me one of the new fangled cameras.

First, from 1998 with a Kodak DC 120 1 mpix:

I'd previously had the DC50 which had .38 mpix but I have no photos from that camera or if I do, they are on 1.44MB floppy disks somewhere.

And now for the real way back shot from January 1992:

Taken with a Logitech Fotoman camera.  Grayscale only.  January 1992.  The camera had come out in 1990 and cost about $900 but was down to about $500 by 1992.  Naturally, when I received it I immediately took it home and took pictures of my son.  Dave's almost 25 years old now and in the Navy.

These shots have be converted to .jpg from their original .TIF format to upload.

The Logitech did come with some rudimentary editing software.  I shot digital in a limited way until the late '90s when it really began to dominate my engineering documentation work at the office.  When the CoolPix 900 came out it really was a huge leap for non-professional shooting.  By 2000 I was done with film entirely and have only shot digital since then.

Stairway to... Spaarnwoude 2002 by AmstelBright, on Flickr

Shot with a Canon Powershot S30 camera and built-in flash. There have been a few older ones, but this is my oldest digital photo currently available on-line. I think I had that camera a few weeks at that time.

I think I should revisit that place some day and try to recreate the image using my PEN camera. Could be interesting.

The first digital photo I took was with an Apple Quicktake 100 at work in college, but I don't have any of those files.  (boy were they garbage), so I'll post the first image I have with my first digital camera I owned, a Kodak DC3400.

This is the first image I took, on May 31, 2001.  It was a graduation present from my parents.  This shot was a simple test shot outdoors, shot at low res (I immediately took a 'high res' shot after, of the same scene).

This is one of the first shots I took that I actually thought was decent, which was taken on June 5, 2001.

And two of my favorite pictures I took with that camera, on Dec 31, 2002 and January 24, 2004, respectively:

And by a good margin, too. Sorry, I misread your second photo. Nice that you still have it.

The FotoMan, made by Dycam, was the first mass-produced digital camera. It had a fixed-focus f4.5 lens and produced a 320x240, 256 gray-scale image. It had one button--like the much-hyped Lytro--and stored 32 images. There's one on eBay listed at $200, not bad for a 20-year-old point-and-shoot.

Anyone use an Apple QuickTake camera from 1994 to 1997? Apple dabbled briefly in photography before Jobs canceled the product. The first model was made by Kodak and took 640x480-pixel images without any way of viewing or editing the results in-camera. It cost $750 which is more than a no-contract iPhone 4S today.

I'd love to know why Jobs killed the project, maybe just a little too far ahead of it's time?  Here's a fun thought: Apply buys the Olympus camera division now.  They don't need it, probably doesn't fit their product portfolio and style, but Oly might finally get a menu system that was easy to use!
