Indianapolis, INdiana..

A common flower here... these are huge, if they are wild, like this one, well there are 100's at this fishing park.. I took a video there also with the G3 today... have to figure out how to post.. I have a You-Tube account to upload it to also.
Hibiscus grow here like the plague, I mostly see them n tropical places, thats why I asked

Love the passion flower, beautiful colours and textures. The lily's nice too. For some reason though orchids sort of scare me, I must have been attacked by one as a child.

Here's something growing in my wife's garden. I don't know what it is, but I call it the "microphone flower":

Some other flowers:

A close-up using the Canon 50mm macro. It almost looks like it's ready to eat you...

I can't ID them either.
But they are beautiful to behold...
Did you use any kind of flash?  Like a Ring LCD macro light

I need to go to our botanical garden in Indy....

@Centauri27 love the detail in the Pink flowers.

Learnt an interesting fact the other week about Passion Flowers represents the passion of jesus, which is where the name comes from

The ten petals represent the apostles, the radial filaments represent the crown of thorns and the stigmas represent the 3 nails and the 5 anthers the 5 wounds.

Thanks. I didn't use any flash--all were natural lighting. The "microphone flower" was outdoors in subdued light; the second was outdoors in direct sunlight. The last one was a cut flower in a vase that I placed next to a window in my living room to get bright indirect light. For this one, I used a tripod to shoot at low ISO/small aperture for best detail.

Nice! Maybe you can jump in and join my thread at:

http://e-p1.net/olympus-digital-pen-and-pen-cameras/my-e-p1-blows-out-the-reds/

Did you have to do anything with the reds? (You're probably shooting with a Panny which probably doesn't exhibit the problem.  :-\)

E-P1
Canon EF 35mm f/2
Fotodiox EOS to Mu43 adapter
1/200th sec
f/2.8 (stopped down on Canon body)
iso 100
shot at MFD, 8"
big crop

The Canon EF 35/2 is a spectacular lens on the E-P1 body.  IQ, Contrast and sharpness are there wide open!
