These are great pictures. I will try to look at scenes like this with different eyes in the future.

Abandoned places are some of my favorite things to look at photos of. Wish I was courageous enough to try and find them for myself though.

There are photo ops every where, we just have to see them  ;)

This web site is a big help with all the different theme threads that are started.

It does take some courage, but it takes a whole lot more stupidity. I can say, all the sites I have visited are scouted out, planned and carefully approached.  I take few risks and feel safe most of the time. The only risks I take are legal ones. To me, it is very worth it.  I get sick of landscapes and pets. Abandoned sites have such rich histories and character. My family thinks I'm nuts.

Well, pretzston, who has a better viewing point than your close family?  ;)

Living where I live (LOS, hmm . . .), I'll have to make a risk assessment prior to open my gate, anytime & anyday, abandoned industrial estates, or not. Don't think it serves me a lot, though.   :D

Thanks  :)

I had to use MF because the center AF point is too wide, and was all over the place each time I tried. Which was seamless in operation.
I focused on the tip of the "L" handle.

Some Heavy Industry around my area.
Used Spot Meter to expose the smoke properly, and adjusted underexposed areas to look somewhat natural, and a bit of saturation to add some spunk.
