Right here!  My son Evan and I shoot with Panasonics.  We love them!  Started out with and FZ-18 and an FZ-28.  Now I shoot with a GH1 and I just bought Evan a GH10.  We shoot a lot of aviation stuff mostly. 
At an airshow now I shoot videos and he shoots the stills.

The only limiting factor for us has been the lack of a big zoom lens for our stuff.  The 45-200mm just doesn't have enough reach for a lot of our stuff. 

What I love about Panasonic cameras is how reliable and durable they are.

photokina is gonna have your back!!, 100-300mm is gonna be there. Also, give the raynox 2.2x teleconverter a try, I've tested it and there's no loss of sharpness.

The Panasonic shooters are probably in forums that have some type of Panasonic micro four thirds title and not just a sub-forum

Besides, Panasonic gets just as much coverage here as Olympus, it's just the name that is misleading, and was something that originally I did not control.

That's because it has so much more bulk to fit in a focus sensor.

There is no dedicated AF sensor in E-Px or in Gx by panasonic. All focus via Contrast detect, in which the main sensor is the AF sensor too. I think that the algoritm in pany is slightly faster, as are Pany lenses. You can easily confirm the second by attaching the new lens to your E-Px.

For a second there voyager confused me, and focusing was slower on the PEN with the panny lens.

no. If what you're asking is if the panny was faster on the PEN than the Oly kit lens, then no, it was more or less the same, at longer focal lengths the panny was slower; but that's understandable. So am I to understand the algorithms on the panny are slightly better?

Which one gives you more usable in focus shots, regardless of speed?

lisandra , the focus speed certainly and even perhaps the accuracy? , a tiny bit,
is better in my gf1 than my pen, but i swapped my original pen, which was dented, for a pristine one, but its running the 1.0 firmware, and ive mislaid my cord so cannot upgrade  without it ..... but even my previous pen with the latest firmware, it seemed, was a little  slower than the panny

I think if any camera had adjustable target lock I'd keep them. But it's still not quite enough to make me want a GF1.

shooter is right the gf1 is an awesome beast the focus tracking the focus speed and as was pointed out the target size all are very well done on the gf1


i went to j and r music\camera world to simply play with it  and get a feel for it and its use with some lenses i brought along , they were the first shop in nyc that i found it at , they are nice countermen and are let you really examine the stuff they sell...they even will walk a few feet away to help another custoner and allow you to continue  your examenation

thing is i couldnt leave the store without it , so i bought it on the spot,
thats the impression the gf-1 made on me in 20 minutes of shooting and checking the menu
