Lumix GF2 - Trigger/ Remote for Video??
« on: August 15, 2011, 04:11:25 AM »
I am aware of triggers and remotes for taking photos, however I am desperate to find a trigger to be able to activate start/ stop on Video mode.

Reason being: I use my camera on the race track and once I have my camera set up behind me fixed on my roll cage, I cant get access to it without having to unstrap from my 6 point harnesses, turn around and switch the button... So I am after some sort of device that will allow me to run it from the camera to the front console, beside my seat, which will give me easy access to start/ stop.

Any ideas if there are such devices that are compatible with the GF2 or will a trigger switch work on Video mode.

Thanks in advance.  :D

If I am not mistaken, you can program the camera for video mode via the shutter button then a remote should/would work???  I don't do much video and I have the GH2 so cannot be of much help to you!

Sounds hopeful, thanks! Can anyone else back this up?

The GF2 does NOT have a port for a remote device nor IR capabilities. The GF1 does have a remote port. ....Nice move Panasonic.

Based on my reading of the GF2 manual/looking at the camera's menus, the shutter button cannot be used to start video recording.
