Adorama is accepting "Pre-Orders" (Pre payment) for the G3..
If they ship on Friday the 17th, I will have it by Monday the 20th

I really didn't have more than about 700.00 to buy a update, so, the Semi-Pro will just have to be for another day..

Now, who wants to buy a G1 in great shape... cheap!

One thing I found out after pre-paying is a new touch-screen feature...

It lets you touch the where you want to focus (not new), AND will take a photo w/o touching the shutter button (NEW), Perfect for low angle macro photography with the LCD twisted out. It is not "Speedy" per DPR Preview, but handy.

I'm sure the G3 will meet the expectations. However, the case is this: I do not believe we'll see G3 at Adorama (or B&H) untik a few weeks. Us market is not the premium market for Panasonic, - as their cameras there sells for a lot less than what Panasonic is getting from Europe (remember the $-£ (or €) pricing. A couple of more weeks for you guys to wait! Hope I'm wrong, though, - wold love to see both Peter & Lisandra get this camera as they expect.

Im not getting it! as great as I think it is, its not much of an improvement over the GH2 so it doesnt make much sense for me to buy it. Ill wait for the next GH cycle to see if its worth it.

Yes but, The GH2 Is still $900 For the body. And except for a few Features for the video And a mic plug, the G3 Has a very similar Feature set, for $600.

Just got a email from Adorama, and they don't have any G3's in stock yet... Well here is the email:

I thought it be the same sensor as the GH2... NOT...
I am just so ready for the G3, I'd buy almost anything that really close in IQ...(I was toying the idea of getting a GF2/EFV instead....but the IQ is not that much better than my G1 at IS0 800+
So a GF2/EVF is out... but, the a used GH2 Body for $600.00 Is still on..., but alas, they are still too much used

17th Street Photo has the G3 with Kit lens for $699.00 in stock right now. I wish I had the extra $100.00 bucks... I get one and sell the kit lens. I maybe able to add $100.00 on July 1. If my wife agrees and I can sell the lens fast!... Get the Brown one then, maybe..

17th street photo seem shady over the phone but I have ordered from them and the service is good.

Yes, saved $65.00, could have saved $95.00 with cheap shipping.
But, it is still a savings...
I may have to wait a bit longer though... site says "June/July" shipment.
I just received the Conformation/Receipt for my "Pre-Order"... Now the waiting game...
