Like all lenses in the known universe, at f1.4 is a bit soft, but not soft too go shoot somebody at leica. At F2.8-4 things get really sharp. At f4 the sharpness is quite impressive. These were taken with the GF3

And while It doesnt say it there, a birdie told me this was taken with the Summilux at F3.5, ISO 160, developed from RAW.

at f1.4 is a bit soft
I was gonna say the same. It is still perfectly absolutely usable however.

I'd assume if there was any it would be software corrected by the camera or raw converter. Likewise for CA.

I DONT THINK LEICA ALLOWS THAT, i heard a rumor the the 20mm 1.7 was gonna be leica branded but was not because panny fixed the image too much in software

not sure about this

Got a reference for that? I must have missed that in the past.

Also, I found where lisandra was pulling those pics from, they're from http://www.quesabesde.com/noticias/panasonic-lumix-gf3-analisis-fotos,1_7682 and there's some more samples there. I do note there is longitudinal CA visible, but about average for a f/1.4 standard lens. Oh, those samples look sharpened in some processing to me, there's some minor sharpening halos visible. So don't take that as representative of the raw lens but indicative of possible processed output.

Actually the claim that digital correction was not allowed came from Panasonic in a 2009 dpreview interview....quote as follows;

We agree completely, we don't think it's an issue at all how you get the performance you want as long as the results are good, but to many purists this is hard to swallow. So when you're designing a lens now you're designing it partly optically and partly digitally?

Yes. Of course we work closely with the lens engineers. But Leica doesn't allow us to use digital corrections, so that's why there are no Leica lenses for the Micro G system. But of course, we have a plan with Leica as part of the roadmap.

It looks like a nice overall performer to me.. at tad soft at f/1.4 is not an issue, really, for close portraits at f/1.4, it's fine, or perfect. It does have wonderful rendering and color. If I had the Money, I'd get it in a heart beat!

lisandra, you mentioned the site (which was obvious from the image links too) but not the page itself, which I had to spend a little time finding in there as I don't know Spanish. It would be easier for all to link to the specific page.

The samples include other lenses too, as that page concentrates on the GF3 in general. Ooh, I vaguely remember someone mentioning somewhere if the lens comes with a hood. The images on that page certainly suggest one is available although it almost doubles the effective volume in front of the camera.

Here's the badly Google translated link. They basically say that no photo has done justice to the camera and that is comfortable to hold and comfortable to use. The round hump is more attractive in person and that its a bit taller than.the nex c3 but a bit shorter. Also pannys new sensor housing will make it so that every future g camera will be smaller.

Is it sharper @F/2 than Voigtländer 25/0.95@F/2?
The photo @F/3.5 is impressive in terms of sharpness....

The voigtländer broke resolution records on quite a few test sites, if its sharper than that well....I actually don't know what to say!

Looks like shot in Rome, - and with true Leica IQ, as well!  I look forward to this one, - hopefully as good (could it be better?) as the 'older and bigger sister', the FT-version.  If so, US funds 600 (+ VAT, I guess?) as for MRSP, could be named a bargain.

lisandra, please don't embed full resolution images in the forum. I didn't notice on my home connection but it is killing my mobile one right now.

Anyway, the reason I'm here is to post this like to a "work in progress" review by Cameralabs:
http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Panasonic_Leica_DG_Summilux_25mm_f1-4_H-X025/

Some samples there already.

How? Im looking at it with my cell right now, or do you mean download speed?

The Leicas minimum focusing distance is 11.1 inches or 30 cm
