If the Organic Sensor is THAT great.... Better than any other APS-C sensor to date.... at $1800 USD, and not being FF......But is as good or better than any FF to date (save the crop factor),
It just might sell......

BTW, Panasonic has a patent on an Organic Sensor also... but, that is just Paper right now.....

With a 28/53/90 fast glass start, it should sell well.
I read that the AF had better be faster than the X100..... The X100 only handicap for many.

This will be THE game changer for the LOOK of many mirrorless cameras in the next 2 years

Olympus being the next in line to adapt a Retro RF style.... (I hope)

If you wait long enough, a popular style of the past, will come back around with a revised look......

IT LOOKS GOOD BUT THE SLOPE does not thrill me , im more concerned about operation , if it comes out of the gate like the x 100, many will be angry including me, but if fuji sees their x100 as an opportunistic moment  to learn what was wrong or poorly implemented ifirst time around.....then this new model could turn many heads,

it will need a bigger battery, faster  af  ... a bigger, faster raw buffer even more resolution in the evf, [think sony here] less wonky operation consistant iso values across modes [ that the x 100 fixed in firmware], and for me the ability to frame with the evf or lcd without visual garbage and vision blocking stripes etc all over the bottom of the screen. that you ought to be able to do in the x 100 but cant in manual. a great annoyance to me.
but i love my x 100 and x 10... they are the best iq luxury compact and apsc  camera i have,  bar none, even with the quirks ,the x10 was a much more polished camera that the x100, but it has a small sensorand need a firmware fix to its fluxing iso value behavior across modes.

three primes out of the gate  18mm f2  [28mm fov ] a ......35mm f 1.4 [ 53mm fov ]..... 60mm f2.5 [ 90mm fov ]
what a brilliant launch strategy.... id love to see a  compact 12-35 2.8-4 follow for fans  of zooms and of course other lenses like a macro long zoom etc

Apparently the AF system will be separate from the sensor, so hopefully that means that it's quicker and more accurate than the X100.
They posted one more pic on mirrorlessrumors:

It's a shame the 35/1.4 isn't a pancake... it looks kinda big.

What the hell am I saying, who cares if it's on the big side!? It's f/1.4!! On a sensor that promises better low light performance than a full frame!! :D

Separate af sensor means phase detection, how they managed that without a mirror is more marvelous than anything in the universe. The sensor itself is not really the organic thing everyone talked about, but it has something that I've been saying for years now, go ahead, check the threads, THE REAL BOOST IN IQ WILL COME WITH GETTING RID IF THE AA FILTER. The sensor will have a random 6 color filter array and I can't wait to see what are the other 3 colors and how in gods name can that possibly work. With that setup, it should resolve right up there with 5d mk2 but I really don't know how the sensor will have a better low light performance. If it doesnt, I doesn't matter. Lots and lots of resolution make up for some noise any day, you don't believe it? Go read any a77 review written so far, they'll tell you its the best camera since slice bread, despite being the noisiest APS C ever made.

I seem mad don't i? I kinda am, this is the sensor Panasonic should have been doing since they patented it over a year ago. Chances are the next slew of cameras will use the same ol bayer sensors and suddenly, if you think about it, any and every mirrorless pro made from now on will seem pointless and will not be able to compete or even sell well; since dollar for dollar they won't be able to compete with the fuji. Fuji is a no nonsense company, they file a patent and 90% of the time it becomes a reality, the others file a patent and it becomes a reality 10% of the time. The gh3 better have the filterless sensor they patented before Fuji did, or I'm going the way of the F...(fuji I mean ;))
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Butt-ugly camera although there is no question the style will appeal to a lot of people that buy cameras.

Non-ttl AF? Hmmm, guess we will see how that works.

Very interesting lenses, everybody knows that Fujinon can make great glass, but I don't think I'm a luddite by saying that the world probably doesn't need another lens mount/format.

It will be most interesting to see how well this camera accomplishes anti-aliasing without an AA filter, that and color gamut.

Panasonic has the horses, the GH3 should be interesting, meanwhile Canon continues to snooze. On-the-other-hand, maybe Fuji is going to scoop everyone with this sensor (although it seems unlikely).

from where i stand this is the system that folks have been waiting for since digital captured the  market

theres plenty of me too viewfinderless or a lumpy extension evf in a hot shoe ,  mirrorless cams..... theres 50 million polycarbonate  mee too dslrs  as well ,

but this is the first interchangable lens system that launches with 3  perfect primes   an inbuilt ovf\evf and the long sought rangefinder body form that is mush nicer to shoot with than a 5 pound meteorite dslr

its not that  ugly, but ill concede it coulda been prettier without a sloping forehead of a previous hominid species , looks wise it a step down from the x 100 imho

but it seriously sounds like i camera i need to get.....   . a 'modern","rangefinder" with a launch set of sensible fast primes at sensible ...camera millions of folks have been waiting for..that includes many folks here ;)

this camera will  break all  sales records , mark my words
the sony nex 7 will also excel in the marketplace, if camera companies just paid attention to enthusist instead of doing a survey of soccer moms , they would do much better  they behave like brainless organisms

In this case I don't think they mean resolution = megapixels (the sensor is "only" 16mp after all), but resolution = resolution. Doing away with the AA filter increases resolution (although I'm not sure how it could possibly outresolve the sensor in the M9 for example, which is full frame and also lacking AA filter), and maybe this new array is more effective at keeping down noise than a standard bayer pattern.

But I guess we'll just have to wait and see, the proof is in the pudding.

edit: Hmmm... I think this might be the much talked about organic sensor after all.
This picture is from a blog post about the organic sensor:

That seems consistent with the description of the X-Pro1 sensor.

16mp in the fuji 18 in the leica.......... close enuf for a photo finish [pun alert :D] especially when its clear that Fuji technology of processing a signal is light-years ahead of Leica  with its relatively noisy Kodak full frame sensor at this juncture [ pun alert again] ;D

I know, its what i meant, ive been saying for quite a while know that eliminating the AA filter will give the increase in resolution needed instead of upping the mp count.\

It has apparently a phase detection sensor somewhere on the camera.

Its has a weird 6 color filter array in a random pattern so moire is not really a possibility (I get it, but i kinda dont)

Canon continues to snooze.

officially theyll make a fixed lens zoom APS C camera, which I dont think its enough

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

In one of the many blog posts about this (can't remember which) I read that the phase detection AF uses reflections from the sensor, so it is technically TTL.
