I couldn't open the Video or image.. But, that sounds really cool man  ;)

You adjust the Focal point in editing and I guess DOF also...

Who needs f/stops now...  :o

I read about this when it was announced, its called computational photography. It's a baby still.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

But see, the image seems to contain more data than just what we see.
Could this also be used to increase high-ISO with, say, 10 stops?

Fascinating! Apparently this is recording a wave front interference pattern, a hologram in effect. The scene can be recreated using the record as a diffraction grating and let it interfere with un-diffracted light from the same source. This was done on film. I can't envision how to do it digitally other than mathematically processing the digital info. Interested to follow up on this.

Asked my self something similar and got an insanely complex answer. Apparently,  ISO won't matter in computational photography, the why is what I don't get. I think its all hype, and in the end this is.gonna be nothing more than fancy software at work. It simply sounds too good to be true.

It seems to be a digital holographic camera. We could do this on film for decades already. In a real hologram you can focus your eyes on any point you choose. If the model is re-created on your computer screen you will have to tell the computer where to focus.

It turns out that these guys are right here in Silicon Valley. Here is the Dissertation and additional info. It involves a micro-lens array placed in front of the sensor to record directional information (Remember the stereo postcards. They used an array of cylinder lenses) The resolution is determined by the number of micro-lenses and is substantially less that the sensor's capability.
