unless you consider the sensor from panny that is used in the gh2, it right up  there with the aps-c crowd for most purposes

Where did you get that information about Nikon using it?

The chances on me getting it right have just firmed up considerably...

Now thom hogan says that the quality could be up there with m4/3s and the camera be a success. This is after numerous articles of saying m4/3s quality sucks...but because NIKON is making it NOW the quality is good...

On a more positive note, the sensor size seems to be between the pentax q and m4/3s

Well, another bridge camera, better than P/S, lower IQ than the G3/E-P3 quality, and yet another "nitch" market attempt.  Why not go with a sensor just a mm or so smaller than m4/3, and IQ closer to DSLR models.  Uhhhh, I guess if the IQ is much better than P/S, and approaching the m4/3 IQ, but at a $400.00 price for the kit... maybe it will fly.... of the shelf's?

I am just guessing at a price that would be very competitive in my eyes anyway.

Another small sensor.

Indeed. Ho-hum.

P.S. Intriguing that Pentax beat everyone else to that "market" (if indeed there is any market here) with the Q.

Thom also shoots m4/3 although I can't remember which bodies he has. His complaint isn't that the image quality suck, although he recently said that m4/3 hasn't advanced their sensors much over the years compared to Sony for example. To me, Sony were behind the curve early on so had more to gain. Anyway, usually it is other aspects of camera designs he complains about. He doesn't hold back on Nikon either, and complains about them as much as anyone else does.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!

I can't believe I started this thread almost 5 months ago and this theoretical camera has yet to appear.

We do at least have a photo of the mount, so something at least exists now.
