i would like to own one, he sugar coats the high iso but at 1600 its fine , the perfect nex 7 would have had 18mp rather than 24 a 1\4 reduction, and excellent high iso instead of just ok, it s still a hell of a machine
love the control dials and if the focus peaking is better than my gxr m mount module as most everyone claims, then its a hell of a good implimentation of mf focusing , and that evf ....., it gives me chills

What's so great about 18MP?  At least with 24MP you have more pixels to crop.

id rather have a slightly smaller file with tremendous high iso capabilities , than 24 mp with just avg high iso capabilities , just a personal viewpoint

a case in point is the sony 5n iso vs the nex 7 iso capabilities... the 5n has much better noise profiles at the highest isos , and  also at  lower isos like 800-1600 too for that matter

The really did went overboard with this. Noise reduction on ISO 100s. Popphoto found that for a sensor that has 150% of the gh2 pixel count, 8 more million pixels, it only has a marginal increase in actual resolution over said camera. It has about 80 lines more. What was the point then? The point was to beat themselves, if you compare it with the a55 it does represent a hefty upgrade in resolution.
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Popphoto hasn't reviewed the NEX7.  There is no translucent mirror, so you can't compare a77 as being the same thing.

24 megapixels is too many for an APS-C sized camera. There was once a study done that determined that 6 megapixels was the perfect resolution for one mathematically. Ever since then they've had to use tons of software correction to get sensors to accept higher resolutions.
