12800 is not reallly great but it has a potential for difficult black and white conditions 3200 looks very good in exr mode and also very useable in P S A M

LOT OF COOL STUFF IN CAMERA .. EXTRA BOKEH MODE FOR PORTRAITS film sims ..4 different b and w [reg and 3 filtrations and sepia]

silent mode 2 custom sets on thre dial. exr3 ways: 1,resolution priority, 2, high iso low noise priority. 3,d range priority .......then theres advanced on the dial
3 ways
pro focus= 3 shots combined toincrease bokeh,adjustable.....also pro low -light camera joins 4 exposures into a single image[used to reduce niose and blur]
and 360 PANORAMA. 180 panorama

evert time i pick it up i figure something new

this mode apparently will attempt to identify a foreground subject that is is the focus "subject" of the image and will take extra shot s to provide greater defocus in the oof areas.. heres an example of my sneaker... the backround, in reality, was slightly less sharp than the sneaker "subject" like most smaller sensored cameras, oof drama is tough to realize in real world use,

sometimes the x10s computer cannot impliment the feature and tells you so , presumeably because it cannot figure out what subject backround is due to exact same sharpness as the part that must remain sharp there must be some little defocus to begin with anf then defocus is enhanced

it works pretty well, thats how it seems to me

Congrats, cosinaphile! The X10 has been out in Japan for three weeks already, - you're were able to get it in NY, - here's not out yet, and nobody knows when. I'm debating with myself between the X1 and the GFX, - this or that, - or both? Think it will be this one, - and then wait for the Fujifilm FinePix X?, - with an interchangeable lens mount. Half a year more, for that one, is that what you believe, as well?

as much as im impressed with the fujifilm x10 o don't think its in the same class, image wise, as the lumix gx1 will prove to be due primarily sensor dimensions and the lens mount......... the lumix, im guessing, could easily be used on a pro assignment and will be a much more capable camera at iso 1600 and above where the iq of the x 10 starts to show noise , the x10 internal optical vf, as welcome as it is, lacks a little accuracy and is absent any shooting info . the only info offered at all is a tiny green [or amber] led light it sits outside the vf and is meant to be viewed peripherally ....steady green for af and blinking for failing to af due to low light of too close a subject ,amber for a 1\2 sec when the x10 is turned on or off [ a rarity , its low light af ability py x 100 to shame , its macro ability are light years ahead of the x100s avg macro ,...on off times are also much faster than x100 ] the x 10 is in operation a much superior camera to the x 100 focus speed, sleep to wake, panorama stitching dramatically improved... plus 120\180\360 vs 12\180 degrees, the x 100s saving grace is the x 100s sensor is a class leading apsc, while the x 10 the size of the superzoom bridge cams... 50% larger than the sensor the lx5s zx1 ex1 etc.... has a bit better in iq

i probably will get the gx1 if no internal vf gf\gx\e-p camera is announced soon , for a long long time i griped about no proper upgrade to the gf1, well panny made one , it looks great and has a new sensor and all the controls i could hope for, what am i waiting for???!!! :)
