A Mirror-less Digital Leica other than the M9.

I'd bet is has EFV also.

I bet it will take Leica R lenses too..(Via an adapter).

So many have invested in R Glass, and the Leica DNR is so behind the times...

I hope it does well.

You beat me to it.  :D

Shame there is no real info whatsoever. They haven't even decided on the sensor size!

What's wrong with the M9?

IT will have an evf apparently, many are betting its gonna be a re badge panny, but that doesnt seem right doesn't it? leica themselves have said the 4/3s sensor doesn't meet their standards. although things have changed...

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

its a rangefinder, now ask me what's wrong with that.

The PRICE !

But, the M8 had a APS-H sensor... 1.3x crop
The new ML Leica should have LiveView TTL AND Focus TTL... the M9? not sure it has Liveview TTL, just Preview after Exposure I'd guess. It has a external RF for focusing. It is an "M" after all  :D

interesting news

i guess as the leica cl was to the m5 so the new ml will be to the m9 ...sort of

if leica is to be believed, one difference will be its manufacture , back in the day leica had no problem using asian manufacturing facilities and expertise
to make the less expensive and smaller leica cl , in fact the venerable minolta made the cl and the cle, a minolta branded version of the same compact rangefinder....if i remember correctly canada made some of them too or maybe the lenses?

now leica is saying asian makers are not an option,,,hmmmm ???

I think mirrorless has given Leica some new options but over in Leica land the gurus insist that Leica disposed of all its R mount machining equipment. Eliminating the rangefinder from the M9 shell would probably reduce its manufacturing cost by 1/2, which represents a big jump in profit margin because as everyone knows Leicas don't go down in price, but thats maybe a little too heretical.

So the scenario I see is something like a Leicanated (Leicafied?)GH2 with an M mount and a new $700 Leica adapter for legacy R lenses. Of course the sensor in this bastard GH2 would have to be something fractionally bigger than the original 4/3 sensor that Leica swore they would never use. $3K would be my guess for the body.
