it has happened...
« on: February 02, 2012, 09:09:53 AM »
I see it as a clear sign of the end of days, nikon announced a 42x,  24-1000mm zoom compact. Whether or not if it shoots lasers and quotes various bibles is yet to be disclosed...
That said, be careful what you do when you think no one is watching and dont walk naked around the house, you never know whos watching...God knows Ive caught some "things" at a mere 600mm

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

You walk around you house NAKED  8) ;)
What have you caught?
My wife's P/S does up 425mm or so, and it has 2x Digital Zoom setting.
So, f/8 at 1000mm ?

I do, its hot here, always.

Believe me, I have caught some STUFF! People will do the craziest things when the think no one is looking. There's an apartment building across of where I lived that's seemingly far from everything, not for 600mm it isnt! Again don't do weird, naked stuff  there's a chance somebody's watching from a place you can't imagine...I have a 1320mm setup for m4/3s at home, ill post an image later...

The 1000mm photos will surely be sharp.

Not really. Just visualising that was a bit strong. In a positive manner, of course. So, we were talking about a 1000mm lens, weren't we? Hm, how usefull is that gonna be on a compact body? Unless your distant neighboors walk naked in a room with 1000W of floodlights, do you really think you're gonna score a good shot?
