I think Sony are trying to play the Cano-nikon game with IS lenses, thus trying to rip off their customers for every lens they sell. Let us see if it works in, say, one year.

Let us see if it works in, say, one year.I don't think that's the reason. Size is the reason. They wanted to make the smallest body possible and IS adds volume. The NEX body is super small. It is the size of a P&S. Other than the bulge where the batteries go, it's about the size of a TX series.
