So very tempting. These are highly competitive price points, if the system is as good as it promises to be it will attract a lot of buyers.
With lenses at these prices I have hopes of a sub $1000 body.
EP-3, VF 2, 14mm, 17 mm, 20 mm, Nokton 25 mm, 45mm, 14-42 mm, 40-150mm. E-5 and a quiver of 4/3 lenses.

Those prices aren't horrible, but it would have been nice to have a $299 affordable one.

I see a lot of complete 3 lens camera kits being sold for $3,000.00.
The price for a used M8.2 is very close to this w/o any lenses.
And it has a "IR" filter "Opps"  :(

And, if it is true, an M mount adapter is being offered in the future... Even better for those who can afford it.
The registration is shorter than the Leica, so, that is not an issue.

the 35 1.4 is the kit lens i think as well so maybe "subsidized thru a kit purchase  if the kit is 13-1400 dollars  it makes the body 8-900 dollars

Not at those fast aperture speeds.
If you compare with MFTs, you'l see comparable if not cheaper (i.e Olympus 12mm) prices.....

The Pan/Leica 45mm MACRO is more than the Fuji 60mm MACRO...
The Oly 45mm is only $100 cheaper than the Fuji 35mm....
The Oly 12mm is more expensive than the Fuji 18mm...

Per order the body at Amazon $1699.00. Ouch, that figure is a bit higher than hoped.

considering the market share it is after, RF users, possible Leica M8.2/9 owners, those looking for an alternative form a Larger DSLR's, to take on travel but not sacrifice IQ. and to scale down in weight as we get older and fussier  :P

$1600.00 + another $1600 for all 3 lenses.... it is a bargain! Comparatively

+1 on that 3200 for the 3 lens kit a bargain ....yes

i was hoping for  1500 dollars for the body and 35 1.4

500 for the 18mm 2

600 for the 60mm 2.4

2600 more or less  a better price for me  :)

still i shouldn't complain

if the samples and tests impress as much as i think they will, that price is reasonable, heck, itll be a bargain... more resolution and better noise control than an m9? sign me up! also, go look at what a 7d costs...
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

i believe  the x 100 was supposed to sell for 800 - 1000 but fuji or a marketing concern working on their behalf  uses things  the prelaunch hype...  and testing the waters with teaser info then monitoring the reaction led to a 1200 dollar launch  price ....many across the internet thought that too high , but those who know the leica x1 realize the x 100 to be a good value even at 1200

the x100 and the pro are similar markets but not identical , and fuji has had , i think a good year with those who wanted to buy  it ....and have ,   the pro does not have the 35mm fov lens at launch furthei splintering the audience

i don't think any of these leaks or price speculations  are an  accident...  they are fishing for the highest acceptable price at launch that will not alienate the
target market but reap the highest profits

even though its a very different machine i believe that it should be priced like the d 7000 or the nex 7 which it more resembles  with the kit lens

but those who realize this is a serious contender for the leica audience  will understand that even at 2000 for the body it is 1\4the price of a leica

and at 500 dollars the lens is about 1\4the price of a 50mm f2 cron

My point of view is that if your image quality surpasses everyone else you have the right to charge more
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

Hopefully when Olympus announce the new Pro model and Panasonic announces the new fast zooms and GH3 the Fuji won't seem so attractive to me anymore.

Olympus does have some serious leverage here to undercut the price of the Fuji camera by a lot and sell more cameras.
