I too am very torn right now.  I am selling my E-P1 after Christmas (I have loved it, but I don't use it any more, as the AF speed and inaccuracy has made it frustrating to use.)  I was originally going to just get a GX1, and I very well might do that...getting the GX1 and the 14/2.5, while selling my E-P1 and GH1 (as the GX1 will have image quality good enough to stand in for the GH2 for pretty much any reason should it need to).

The other option is keeping my GH1 and getting the X10.  I am leaning this way as well since when I typically grab my E-P1, it's for times I want good IQ, but want the absolute bare minimum of gear.  As a result, I only bring one lens when I use my E-P1.  If I'm going to do that, why not just have a very good compact and leave it at that.  The X10's lens is fast throughout, has a good range and the image quality is very good for a small sensor camera (though obviously not even close to the GX1 at higher ISO).

I also looked at the XZ-1 today, and I ruled it out almost immediately.  I haven't shot with a P&S in years, and going back to a rocker zoom just made me feel so disconnected to the camera, and I have no desire to do that...with the manual zoom of the X10, it feels like a small rangefinder or something, and I love the feel (I have tried out all three cameras mentioned here...the GX1 just today).  Even having tried all three, I'm still very torn.  The GX1's grip is awesome...it really makes it feel good in the hand, despite being so small...but the X10 is just so cool, and would be a great all-in one compact to have.

I just don't know!

xz-1 a point and shoot? Go wash your mouth, it has all of the (semi-) manual functions you find on every serious camera. Besides that it has an excellent lens. You can attach the VF-2 on it and other EP peripherals. You can even focus manual. Ok it's very small, not really for a real-man's hand, but the most are complaining when something weights more than a stamp.

Take an Olympus E-5, nice camera.
main gear: Canon EOS 600D, Canon 5D, Nikon D3100, Olympus E-PL1, Olympus E-520

Very Funny.. It is a nice mix of compact camera, controls and accessories though..

the olympus is a good machine in the same class as the ricoh gx200  pannylx3\5  Samsung ex1\tl500  canon s95 and almost in the same league as the x 10

but the x 10 sits a little above these aforementioned cameras imho as good as they are , and they are plenty good

I bought a second hand cheap takumar lens. The vendor by mistake send me a brand new Fuji X10... :D I must tell you it was really hard for me to send it back, it´s so lovely. But would I buy it? NO!!!
If it was a X100 I would be fighting some demons inside of me. ;D

I pre-ordered the X10. Huge mistake! I won't pre-order a camera again.

It is a very capable, small camera. It's also a huge pain if you want to go fully manual. My main issues being focusing via the thumb wheel and the live view not reflecting the correct exposure.

Needless to say I don't own the X10 any more.
