For those of you who think mounting a PEN onto a huge legacy lens looks silly:

Dumbmmmmmummmm  ??? ??? ??? ???

But a few idiots will buy it, and proceed to break their iPhone..
For $200.00 you can get really nice p/s with a much bigger sensor than a phone sensor with a 24-300 EFOV !!

that is possibly the stupidest adapter ever created, and the most overpriced for its utility

it looks like torture to use..... "not the spanish inquisition!"

This must be an experiment to test the limits of what rabid Apple fanboys will buy for their beloved iPhones...

I kinda like it.... or at least the idea of it... yeah it looks like hell to use, and its stupid expensive, and you're still very limited by the small sensor/low light performance, but it's a neat idea. Heh.

Yep, that's me--the Genius and the Cynic!   :P

But aside from the absurdity of the unit, the adapter price itself is not particularly outrageous, especially since a measly 4/3 --> m4/3 adapter up  here in Canada costs well over $200 (I've seen it as high as $269!).

now i wonder , given the size of the sensor what the apparent fov would be
for a 50 mm lens what about a 200?

if the pentax q has shoot without lens capability ill get one just to adapt my 200 2.8 fd into a 1080mm f 2,8! :o

It's focusing the image on a diffractive surface first, then using a macro lens to focus the iphone camera onto that from the other side.  So you get a fair amount of light loss, but you should (if they designed it right) get the same FOV and DOF as the lens intended, which is kinda nifty.  Kinda like taking a picture with your phone through the viewfinder of an slr, but without all the lines and display stuff.
