Adarama Nikon J1 review....
« on: December 13, 2011, 07:42:40 AM »
In some areas it scores high, but, it still has too much smearing at high ISO's to compete with m4/3.
an interesting read...

DXO... But, DXO does not include Noise as a factor, only sensor specks as far as DR, Speed, Color depth....

those dxo marks are nonsense ill pit any shot from a m 43 camera with good lens against the nikons  for file detail and integrity which dxo seems not to measure in the scoring :o the nikon are just too aggressive in noise reduction imho compared to the olympus or pannnys  best

Thom Hogan has given it a harsh but honest review (he "barely" recommends)

And for anyone wondering, YES Hogan has given some Nikon bodies "NOT RECOMMENDED".....

I try these things out every time I'm in Target. I have some fun with them until I see Ashton Kutcher holding one in the poster behind the stand.

More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I think Thom gave a descent review on the Nikon J1.  Clearly it has the capability for such a small camera, it just lack important controls.

As an alternative review Brian give it a thumbs up.. But it appears biased towards Nikon gear.

I like the J1.. The price should be lowered to under $500.

Cheers,

All mirrorless cameras cost too much.
