and the sensor is the one in the D7000!!!
More megapixels don't necessarily mean more resolution...

I'm not a zoomie shooter but I will get this one.
The cool thing with the GXR is you can actually change cameras with lensors without changing the UI you setup. I use the A12 28 & 50. I also have the S10 24 -72 that I use as a grit machine. It gives you that GRD feeling but better.
This new zoom promises to fill a void.
I have no reason to use the M module as the 2 A12 units are stunning.
Besides, what's a great camera without AF?

Yes, seems to advance the modual system in the mainstream

W/O AF, it's still a camera... AF is relativity new in the timeline of Photography....  Mid 1800's to present....  :D

I had AF on my 8x10 Deardorff in the 70's.
I'd tell my assistant to focus and she did.

For me AF is mandatory. The GXR is maybe slower then some but it never misses.
I think Ricoh will pickup a lot of new users for the GXR with this new Zoomie.
I'm excited and I don't even like zoomies.

the modules  vary in price , when i got mt gxr body at 349 i asked in person what the best price i coild go for with the 28-300 tiny sensor module  the price jumped from 349 to 429  so the module ended up costing 80 bucks , it a typical travel zoom ps range and sensor but with those great and logical gxr controls...
ive also got the 1.7 sensored 24-72 2.5  -4.4  module which cost i think 349 , its essential the identical lens thats in the ricoh gx 200 but a later gen sensor... i really love the gxr equipt this way

the gxr mount module a12 [ m mount apsc 12mp] was preordered from adorama for 599 but a week before it shipped they dropped it 50 bucks to 549
and gave me thst price

streeshoooters modules are a little more expensive as they have both an apsc sensor and an axcellent prime optic.in the module ... ive long wanted one of those but theyre kind a pricey ,, maybe theyve gone down since i look a while ago

The Body is not so expensive. It is about 250 euros.
But the modules are expensive.

Any reviews on this module yet ?

The thing about the modules is that when you change, you can change the camera.
As stated above the S10 24-72 can be had for around $300.00 USD on the bay.
You can get the body and S10 for around $525.00.
That's a great deal considering the option of expansion to your vision.

I have the S10 setup to replicate my long lost beloved Pen1 and also the GRD3.
The 28 & 50 are knocked out lenses. They run around $550-$600.

The thing is, it's impossible to find used stuff and that really means something.
If anyone is in the Philly region, feel free to contact me and you can take the camera out for a test ride.
Don

How does this gxr + s10 compare to a PEN? Is it much better?

the s10 ''24-72" 2.5-4.4 module is the 1,1.7 sized sensor used in mostly the enthusiast camera sector like the canon s90\95\100 samsung ex1\ tl-500
ricoh gx 200 lumix lx3\5  .......

as such it is much smaller than a m4\3 sensor and i would have to say a step down in iq, but at low to med isos these caneras shine and are capable of truely astonishing results  .....its much better than the tiny sensor in the ricoh   "28-300" module  but not as good as the  large aps- c sensors in streetshooters "28"mm and "50"mm macro module     [ these modules are on my shopping list  :)  ]

the s10 module is a very capable one
