im glad to see this , rumors existed that said ricoh would mothball their ricoh name in favor of pentax ... well they look pretty good side by side to me saw the advertisment in dp

Well, That would be good move....
I wander if on the base plate the full company name will used...

the Q is really good looking camera.... with wheels and interchangeable lenses..
and uses a back-lit CMOS sensor.

pentax the name was a major part of why ricoh acquired them , that and some good af lens mount technology , and those lenses , which ive always respected ,i hate when a venerable old name is retired, i can imagine that things might be different today if minolta didnt sell to sony

contax didnt live on we would have been on the 3rd gen of a digital "g" ilcs would have had an entirely different history

i do understand that some folks here had some distasteful experence with recent pentax digital, but that does not make the whole brand bad

the q is much nicer than i thought , it has a crazy high price but ive always wanted to get one to pair with my 200 mm 2.8 fd with that 5.6 crop....woah!

Unfortunately the legend is pretty much all that it has. And an always shrinking, but increasingly fanatical user base.
