They should be due for releasing a new flash, maybe they'll copy Sony if this sells.

This is a nice idea in terms of compactness. I don't believe that Oly can do that with the old shoe as it lacks power supply. They could do it for E-P2 and later as their accessory shoe allows power to be transmitted via the connector behind it.
