I would really prefer a swing-out screen to the tilt screen, I am also beginning to think this is going to arrive at significantly more than $1100.

But I would almost buy the body just for the matching 75 f1.8 and the 60 macro.

If it's significantly over $1100, I don't think I'll be picking one up until some hit the used market...

Can we presume the arrow buttons (radiating from the OK button) are custom programmable?  Hope they make this really flexible! Oly is know for their complex menu systems, so possibly one will be able to assign virtually any function the these?

Im thinking theres a reason my brain kept telling me no A77, im thinking the OM has everything Im asking from sony for 700 dollars less, Im thinking it makes more sense to shoot with the same brand (both panasonic sensors), Im thinking Ill save a lot of money on lenses (AND accessories), Im thinking I get a nice small camera to lug around and a big gripy one for work (with the grip attached), Im thinking this forum might get an OM owner soon...

In the Bahamas, weather resistant is a plus for a lot outdoor stuff where salty air is plentiful.

I would have hoped for a body like the XPro1. Much more discrete.

Taking the design for their flagship mirrorless camera from an SLR doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. It's just Olympus trying to play on their history and emulate the success of the E-P1 (which was primarily successful for other reasons).

Having said that, I'm sure it will have me under it's spell when I see it in real life.

What can be more discrete than something that looks like a 70's SLR? Just go for the silver version.

I would say this is intended to be anti-discrete.  It is clearly designed to strike fear into the hearts of the Canikons.  Kind of like batman, with little bat ears and everything.

Um...the Fuji x is bigger by quite a margin, what's discreet about it?

The Fuji pro x is wider than a pntax k5 and almost as tall. If it weren't for the vf hump the Fuji would be taller

I'm talking about the style of the XPro rather than dimensions. I was hoping Olympus would just squeeze a view finder in the EP-x like the XPro or the Sony NEX 7 has.

Just a personal preference. I wouldn't have stuck a fake pentaprism on a mirrorless system

part of me feels the same way but that central housing contains the workings of a not tiny evf , so some sort of bump is necessary there...

the sony sits nicely on the side even as it sticks out the i n the back ,

i too waited 3 years for an ep1 successor to get what the the x 100 the x pro and the sony nex got ..... i cannot understand why oly didnt do this .... but moving past that ive decided to embrace  the om-d for the time being .... the humps looks like a pentaprism  but its not totally fake its not filled with air, lol  i really was waiting for an olympus with an integral evf mounted in the side of the camera

Isn't that what the PEN cameras are for though? I mean, I know you want one with an integrated viewfinder, and that may eventually come, but Olympus has to create some sort of distinction for marketing purposes.

= premium product $_$

Looks like a great camera, I was just expecting an E-P design with built in VF.

The OM design could have also been kept for a killer SLR system.
