You have to buy the Flash, Grip and adapter  ???
Why are those listed? they are accessories.

$1200, too High IMO. OLY would sell a ton at $999. Body only, and only 1/10 ton at $1200. body only.

Like Fuji sold 100K X100 in under a year!... The X100 price was higher, but it is a complete camera with a great 35mmf f/2 (fov) lens, with great IQ.

It'll be down to that in a month after being released. Besides, it would be too close to the E-P3 for any cheaper. It is weather sealed, remember?

I hadn't concerned the E-P3 was and still is $900 with a kit lens ($800 body only)
This may push the prices down on the E-P3 if it does go lower in a month or 2.

I think I'm most excited about the MMF-3 adapter than anything else.

One thing I haven't understood yet, will there be a usual micro fourhirds mount on the E-M5?
Best wishes to you all!

Spec. are OK, but that price will be higher than Nikon D7000, at least in my area, and competition will not be easy. It has to offer the kit for below EUR1000, or it's a no deal.

I don't think the D7000 will be an alternative for prospective E-M5 customers. If you want a dSLR, you won't consider the E-M5. The competitors for the E-M5 will be the NEX-7 and the G3/GH2/GH3.

I disagree. The new E-M5 is clearly aimed towards the enthusiast user, the one who usually buys the best APS-C DSLR, with weather sealing and the like, but not the flagship, because both the price and weight. With features like built-in HiRes EVF, lighting-fast AF, it is not designed to compete only with mirrorless cameras, but also to merge the prospective dSLR users to the mirrorless market. Like the one-size-fits-all slogan, but the price tag is not yet adequate. I hope for an improvement though.

I'm not convinced. If what you say is true, mirrorless cameras would already have made inroads in that market. The customer that replaces his camera every few years to have the latest specs will go for the camera with the highest spec (on paper) at a given price point.
The E-M5 will sell to those that have the guts to think outside the box and those who have realized they want a lighter camera kit. For those, I don't think a minor price difference will be deciding.

I'm convinced the mirrorless systems are eating away at least some of the DSLR market. I know a lot of people who aren't really interested in photography who own DSLRs because they wanted something better and faster than their crappy point&shoots, but who most of the time can't be bothered to bring their camera because it's too big. A lot of these people are now slowly opening their eyes to the mirrorless options. It may take some time before it has any noticable impact on the market since these people don't exactly rush out to buy the latest model every time one comes out, but it will happen eventually.

Mirrorless systems are eating away at DSRL market.  Canon 2012 forecast is weaker than expected, president resigns.  Blame the floods in Thailand, everyone using smartphones instead of point-n-shoots, mirrorless cameras or whatever.

You're right, of course. But I still don't think the E-M5 should try to sell on low price. There will most likely be a cheaper OM-D model eventually, that will more directly compete on price with the dSLRs you mention.
Don't forget there is a perceived value with a higher price. People think Apple products are worth more, just because they cost more. Consequencely, if it's cheap, people will think it's not any good.

Too many first-time DSLR users would buy m4/3 if they knew it would provide the same features and IQ in a more compact size. Some would not, of course, just because a big black camera looks more "professional"....

Most of us don't need that.
