dCap,
So with the camera on a strap on your sholder,
do you have a Big Chip on your sholder?
LOL

What the bloody hell has Kevin Spacey got to do with the Pen - is he an E-P1 user or something?

The thing I like about mine is the colour. I like the white with tan. The other thing I liked about it is starting to become the thing I don't like about it and that is that as soon as I began using mine I stopped processing film. Just stopped. Suddenly. Prior to my E-P1 I was shooting, developing and scanning at least 1 film, often more like a two films a week. Within a couple of weeks of the E-P1 I realised that I'd better put the concertina bottles and the dev tank up in the attic. There they've stayed. That's not good. Especially as I've started to use my little Olympus µ[mju:]-II more (it's pocketable, and always with me), but with colour film lately. When that roll of 400 VC Portra (from the Kodak free film giveaway on flickr) is finished I'll return it back to the surreptitious black and white machine it always was.

ian , kevin spacey is just an actor....... and as far as the e-p1 is concerned he is just a compensated spokesperson. perhaps youve not seen them , but there are 5 or so short commercials that will run in the uk that feature spacey speaking [seemingly from the heart, lol] about what he thinks a great photograph is , and implying that the e-p1 might acomplish helping you get there. you can see them and also a way cool and excellent history of the pen [ 5 minutes or so] and a few other pen relasted shorts , i saw the at dp preview , take a look . if youve got the time
personallly i think they are great , in a way they are 15 and 30 second films about the ep-1 starring one of the more gifted actors from the cesspool of hollywood . they have a beginning a middle and an end like any good creation, and to me display much creativitity and shared sentiment ,

of course your mileage may vary.......and , yes i believe he is an e-p1 user ..............now :)

and for god sakes dont abandon film i just bought a ricoh 500 rangefinder , built like a chrome tank
ill send the film in for processing as necessary. ......film is good ......digital is good.....chocolate is good

happy new year brother

The last thing I got before my E-P1 affront was a Ricoh RF-500 rangefinder. I re-foamed it, used it a couple of times, and stashed it away. The shutter clack was too loud. Other than that, it's a marvel. Although, I prefer the Voigtländer VF-135. Better rangefinder patch, probably better lens, slightly smaller and more pocketable, but unfortunately not as manual-able.
