The E-P1 is two years old
« on: May 03, 2011, 03:07:51 PM »
Well, almost.

Who has had it since the very beginning and still does? How is it holding up? Do you still love it as much as when you got it?

I got mine in Nov. 2009, so it doesn't qualify yet.

I bought mine around June of that year, and still have it. In fact, I'm surprised it's been two years! I bought an E-30 shortly after, but still find my Pen to be the camera I reach for in most circumstances. It is a delightful little camera and takes nearly perfect photos every time. It's never let me down. How could I get rid of it? (plus, I think it's more attractive than all of its successors).

I've 'upgraded' my E-P1 to a E-PL2.... and loving it. :)
Pictures always should have a special story behind it or a special meaning to the photographer.

Wow! Good memory! Sadly, I don't post a lot, and haven't had much opportunity of late to do much shooting. I have six months in the States I really need to go through, and maybe post a pic or two.

I bought one from the first shipment that came to Sweden. No problems with it and I still love it although it isn't perfect.
When I bought it I realized that the "perfect" m4/3 camera would be at least a year off and so I got the E-P1 in the mean time, to gain experience with the concept. How glad I am that I didn't wait for a better model, as one that has all the "important" features still seems to be at least half a year off.

I hate the fact that despite it not being perfect, I can't make myself stop using it and loving the photos I take from it more than my Pentax K-x which even has a sharper lens.

I can't qualify as an original E-P1 owner  :( . . . bought it in April of last year. But what i can say is that I choose it over the E-P2 largely because I decided that I didn't like the looks of the EVF and that there was something "purer" in the original Pen. I also got a good price on it.  ;D  It is still my main camera.

I too am a late adoptee of the E-P1. I chose this over the E-P2, because I couldn't justify the price they wanted to sell the E-P2 at for just a few more adjustments/enhancements. Plus I like the E-P1 colour schemes much better :)

I got mine the day they were released in Denmark with the double lens kit and the flash too. I don't use it so often now but I still love it and would never sell it.

Just checked when I got mine. Received it on 30th June 2009, so as of now mine is over two years old. My uses of it have changed, but then again so has my usage and availability of other cameras also. I do feel it has been squeezed out of high usage for me, now I have even more DSLRs above it and a highly capable compact below it.
Cameras big and small: Sony HX9V, Olympus E-P1, Canon 300D (IR mod), 7D and many others!
