Exciting times, just had it for a day, I am so impressed with this little camera, shot a short video demonstrating the 12mm snapshot setting and a few shots with the lens

Now broke, already spent my tax refund that I haven't got yet - went to an Olympus event at Foto Riesel (Sydney) where there were some Olympus reps showing off new and yet to be released stuff and picked up an Olympus E-P3 with kit zoom (black and sweet) and placed the 12mm f/2 lens on order (should have it in a couple of weeks).

Had a play with the 45mm f/1.8 as well but dissapointed that it doesn't have the the nice focus ring of the 12mm f/2. I will probably get the 45mm eventually but am in no rush to do so.

Also played with the E-PL3 and E-P mini or whatever they are calling it. I can see the point of the mini but wasn't impressed by the menus of the E-PL3.

too bad about the 45 i suspected your observations ..... the ep3 looks sweet , ive got the 12 but must use it on the ep1 or gf1 for

They only had a single 45mm lens to play with (about 40 people by my estimation). There was another but it was 'broken'.

From memory his name was Luke and he works for Olympus Australia and is reponsible for the retail side of the PEN series.

There was nothing new at the demo other than to the Australian market which lags behind other countries by a couple of months.

They had the 3 new Pens (the E-P1 is on sale in Australia now but the other two are not), the 12mm and 45mm lenses. The 12mm starts shipping in late August and the 45mm a month later. The E-PL3 also starts shipping in about a month. These timeframes are only for Australia.

They also had a collection of 3-rd party lenses and adpaters to play with which were arrranged by the retail store including a 600mm Nikkor prime.

That's a beer in the hand of the guy on the left, not a new Olympus camera.
