Interesting in-depth dpreview results for E-P3
« on: August 17, 2011, 07:56:13 PM »
It looks to me that the E-5 has a better sensor than the E-P3 based in RAW images.  I thought the opposite would occur since the E-P3 has the new trupic VI processor.  It could be that ACR 6.5 beta hasn't fully taken advantage of new features in the E-P3 sensor (if there are any).  You can see that the RAW file size is slightly smaller than the E-5's.

I wouldn't read too much into the raw file size. It's compressed, isn't it? So it will never be exactly the same size, even if the subject is basically identical.

the camera is a real improvement over the ep1, the camera i own ,
still i wish the sensor had the performance at high iso the the g3 displays

at low and medium isos it looks great , and of course the olympus
jpeg output , what i mostly shoot ,takes a front seat to panny
jpegs, imho

the other improvements in af , flash, processing, af assist
and the oled touch screen  makes it very compelling

ISO1600 to 2000 performance seems pretty good and dare I say it, a match for my Nikon D90. While the D90 can provide better results, they are also more variable.

There's something fishy about the Dpreview review.

There is something fishy about your comment.

You really need to be a bit more specific that just making an unsubstantiated statement like that.
