Got my EP1
« on: January 17, 2010, 03:23:07 PM »
I've been reading this forum ever since the start and have been admiring all you EP1 owners.  I was planning to get my at B&H this couple of weeks for 652.95US.  Just found out I can get it for 699Cdn at Lens and Shutter Vancouver.  Went there right away and got my (in and out 5 minutes).  What a dream come true.
Thanks for all your postings in the past.  I really depended on that to make up my mind.

I have 4 Contax lenses and just ordered an adapter.  Hopefully it will work out.  I like the manual focus with zoom in.  I guess it would a lot easier to use than an adapter for my Canon 40D.  I never had luck with that even with AF confirmation.  Yes rudegus, I am from Vancouver.  Will try to shoot some Olympic scenes the next few days.

congrats and welcome to the thing!

My E-P1 decision was quite studied, and then it was like:  yep, got what I always wanted now.  That is a digital Voigtländer.  Then promptly set to thinking which Voigtländer lenses to get.  I missed them a lot, since my Bessa days.  I know I'm going simple with just a 15 (30mm) and 40 (80mm), but there is plenty of room to expand and fill if I feel the need (oooh, 50/1.1)

But, other than a few shots to confirm that the camera will do what I want ... I'm just playing the waiting game on my lenses which are both in the post

I heard that the Voigtlander lens sale just went up after the EP1 come to live.  I must also explore this line too.  Lots of us were talking about wide and standard.  Is the tele any good?

Thanks.

i use the 50 1.5 nokton in silver on the ep1

it is a beautiful and functional combo, more people notice my ep1 an comment on the attractiveness with this lens mounted than any other time
which gives a fov like 100 on 35 so its a tele , of sorts a short tele i love it wide open super sharp and one of the best bokehs of any voigtlasnder lens

never used the 75 0r 90 but they are probably very good optics

Cosinaphil,  I've a Zeiss Tessar 45mm 2.8 (contax mount) and waiting for the delivery of the adapter. It will not be as sharp as your Voigtlander.  I'll try it out first and consider buying what you have.

Thanks.
