Is there an easier way to toggle between 4:3 and 16:9 modes, something quicker than going into the setup menu each time...

If you touch the "ok" button, it brings up a settings menu on the LCD. Scroll down to the aspect settings and use the left and right directionals to select the ratio you want. Then hit "ok" again or depress the shutter release halfway to return to shooting.

Hmmm, I might have to check out those settings a bit more. At least on the E-PM1 in the normal iAuto mode, r OK button brings up those 'Live Guide' tips...

Enable the cogs menu, and I think you will find in section D, the 'control settings'. In these enable the SCP to 'ON' for the shooting modes you use.
Now when you press the OK button when you are out and about and want to make a change to your aspect ratio, up pops the super control panel, and you can scroll quickly about to change settings. Use a combination of the 4-way controller and the control dial.... it's dead quick this way.
