E-PM1 and E-PL3 product photos from PhotographyBlog
« on: July 03, 2011, 03:26:48 PM »
I have to say I am loving this camera every time I see it. Only thing I wish is that there was a touch screen interface, since accessing the mode dial will be a bit difficult, along with some settings.

On the other hand, the E-PL3 fixes all those problems, but for some reason I don't quite like it as much.

Which one of the two do you like most?

I'm having a tough time deciding between the E-P3 and E-PL3.  The faster shutter and tilt screen on the E-PL3 are big differentiators.  Plus, they are shipping the E-PL3 with the mini flash included.  I can't think of anything the E-P3 has that is better besides the OLED touch screen and retro looks.  The E-PL3 could use a grip.

The PL3 wins on features, but is it me or are the backs of these cameras really ugly? I need to check but I don't think Sony needed such thick borders around the screen.

The cameras look back heavy from certain angles. Sony used to have that problem.

No price on the E-PL3 and E-PM1 yet. I'm not sure why.

My take is that the Olympus announcement was driven by their marketing department.  They want consumers to pause before making a purchase on the GF3 for example.....
