Ok, figured it out now. On the top page you can select your image to be used in the ad. Someone did it with the Pen...

Very odd commercial.  Yes, the PEN is popular but it's not like everyone who wants a camera has it as their first choice or that there is some stereotypical PEN user to poke fun at.  I think Pentax was trying too hard to be clever.

LMAO!!! I think it's brilliant.  The Medusa pen lights on a pen is a pretty stupid idea.  I thought it was fake when I first saw it.  Hopefully, this will motivate Olympus to actually build an improved EP-3 rather than keep rehashing the same old thing, except with added music and filter.  Now if Olympus made a purple Pen like I said they should have then Pentax wouldn't be looking so "different".

The Medusa lights are a very creative idea that macro photographers are going to love. I think Pentax shared the same idea that you did thinking, "hey, WTF is this?"

ok so it was not negative advertising by pentax........or was it ?...... against the epl2 shown with the macro flash attachment , what a relief cause if it was my opinion on pentax would have bottomed out and frankly  i always liked  pentax

but this kind of negative advertising that invite viewers to hate or ridicule and appropriate  a video ad to do it  is a new low in camera promotion, imo

Indeed, the creative aspect of the ad can easily be done for bad. Although at least the intent of the ad is to show something that's really cool, it just didn't seem like it because of the Medusa lights.

exactly , had pentax authored the entire ad , i woul d had shaken my head sadly, it seemed with the flash attachment to put the pen on the false pedastal of the emperors new clothes

The Medusa lights are a very creative idea that macro photographers are going to love. I think Pentax shared the same idea that you did thinking, "hey, WTF is this?"

And remember, Olympus had a twin light TTL rig for the OM system... I had it, so this is a revamp of an old idea... Brilliant in my eyes.
The 1st system had a ring that fit the lens like a filter, and had 2 shoes that tilted and swiveled around the rings axis. And had a hot-shoe mount TTL power modual that held the batteries.

I hope it is not too expensive..

AFA the Pentax ad..... I am left to go buy an E-P2, instead of a Pentax... A Total flop for Pentax, and a free ad for Olympus IMHO.

The ad wasn't made by Pentax. Well it was, but not the E-PL2 part of it.
