Call me superficial, but one of the main reasons I got an E-P1 over E-PL1 was the build quality.  Metal just felt so... good. And the rotating dials felt useful.

Oh, and the E-P1 was going at like SGD$300 cheaper - clearance I guess.

Agree with Centauri that the E-PL1 was tweaked slightly to have more mass market appeal - the buttons and dials are closer to a P&S than an SLR.

But seeing as they've kept the E-P2, it seems they are trying to segment the market a little further.

Olympus would be wise to maintain the split between the E-P and E-PL series. As much as I'm impressed by the performance of the E-PL1, it simply would not inspire the same sense of pride of ownership as the E-P1. I would uncharitably call it dumpy looking--like the early Olympus P&S cameras. I guess the work of art that is the E-P1 has spoiled me.

The E-P2 is actually the less seen camera on the forum, at least that I've noticed. I rarely see anyone talking about it compared to the other two.

Yes, well i Do like the black.. but goth girl that I am... I would have liked a nice blood red! LOL  Even a nice flirty Pink would have been naughty..  That's ok, i've been thinking of ordering a Custom Gelaskin and cutting it to fit my camera. Make that basic black a little more sexy. :-)
