E-P2 vs. E-P1 - hardware differences
« on: January 22, 2010, 12:24:31 PM »
Now, I can't get it from the pictures - are there <any> hardware differences between the two models?
Is there any extra connector, more pins on the accessory shoe, more screw heads visible, just <any> physical difference,
apart from body colour?

I think it’s just price.

Price, minor software differences and the extra slot/connector for the EVF.

The E-P2 has a connector for the external EVF or an external mic.

the ep1 has clear lacquer over the stainless steel panels the ep2 has a translucent black lacquer , and the evf connector  which requires the hot shoe sit above the top plate instead of embedded in the top plate like the ep1

Thanks to all board members for the extensive info. I wanted to find out if E-P2 is a major redesign over E-P1 or just a few software features, using the same hardware. It turned out to be a major redesign though.
